What “units” means here

A U-100 scale corresponds to 100 syringe units per 1 mL, so 1 syringe unit represents 0.01 mL. These are volume markings in this tool, not units of semaglutide or tirzepatide strength.

Calculation: prescribed mg ÷ concentration in mg/mL = volume in mL. Volume × 100 = the U-100 marking. The same arithmetic applies to either selected medication.

This tool does not work for U-40 or U-500 syringes, insulin doses, pens or pen clicks. It does not calculate reconstitution, dilution, dose changes or injection schedules.

When a marking cannot be shown

No line is displayed when entries are missing or invalid, when the volume exceeds the selected syringe capacity, or when the calculated amount falls between its printed lines. The tool does not round, recommend estimating, or suggest splitting a dose.

Ask your pharmacist to confirm the prescription and appropriate syringe. Do not change your dose, concentration or chosen markings to force a result.

Calculation reference

The U-100 conversion and need to match concentration and syringe size are described in FDA’s compounded semaglutide measurement guidance (opens in a new tab). This reference is not validation or approval of this calculator.

Use only the prescription for your current vial. This arithmetic aid does not verify the medication, concentration, prescribed dose, syringe, diagnosis or treatment eligibility. It does not replace pharmacist instruction or complete medication safety information.
