Frequently Asked Questions

We try to address the most common questions here. If you still cannot find your answer, feel free to email us at support@somirahealth.com.

Select a category to narrow your search.

Somira Health is a platform that helps connect individuals with licensed medical providers and pharmacies for weight loss and general wellness treatment options. We focus on making the process simple, transparent, and accessible, with straightforward pricing and no unnecessary complexity.

Somira Health does not provide medical care or make clinical decisions. All treatment decisions and prescriptions are handled by licensed medical providers based on each individual’s needs.

Somira Health’s affiliated prescribing providers are licensed in all 50 U.S. states. Somira Health is currently available only in the states where compliant pharmacy fulfillment is also available.

Getting started is simple. When you click “Start Intake” buttons, you’ll be guided to a secure intake portal where you’ll answer a few questions about your health and goals. A licensed medical provider in your state will review your information and determine whether treatment is appropriate for you.

In most states, this review can be completed asynchronously without a live visit. However, depending on your state’s regulations, a synchronous phone appointment may be required. Washington DC, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Puerto Rico require synchronous appointments for both initial intake and follow-ups. Arkansas, Georgia, New Mexico, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia require a synchronous appointment for the initial intake but may allow asynchronous follow-ups.

Please note that telehealth regulations can change, and requirements may vary. If approved, your prescription will be sent to a pharmacy for fulfillment and shipped directly to your door.

Semaglutide is a once-weekly injectable medication that may help support weight loss by working with your body’s natural appetite and blood sugar regulation systems. It can help you feel fuller for longer and reduce overall food intake. A licensed provider will determine if this option is appropriate for you based on your individual health profile.

Semaglutide may cause side effects, most commonly including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort, and decreased appetite. These effects are often more noticeable when starting treatment or adjusting dosage and may improve over time. Not all individuals will experience side effects, and the severity can vary. This is not a complete list. A licensed medical provider can help determine whether this medication is appropriate for you and discuss potential risks based on your individual health profile.

Tirzepatide is a once-weekly injectable medication that targets multiple pathways involved in appetite and metabolism. It may help support weight loss by improving how your body processes blood sugar and by reducing hunger. A licensed provider will determine if this option is appropriate for you based on your individual needs.

Tirzepatide may cause side effects, most commonly including nausea, diarrhea, decreased appetite, vomiting, constipation, and abdominal discomfort. Some individuals may experience gastrointestinal symptoms, particularly during initiation or dose adjustments. Not all individuals will experience side effects, and the severity may vary. This is not a complete list. A licensed medical provider can help assess whether this medication is appropriate for you and review potential risks based on your specific medical history.

No. Somira Health is self-pay and offers straightforward, transparent pricing without going through insurance.

Self-pay means you’ll pay out of pocket using a credit or debit card, with clear, upfront pricing and no hidden fees.

FSA or HSA reimbursement may also be possible, depending on your plan. Full pricing details and available payment options will be shown during checkout after you complete your intake.

Most people can complete the intake form in just a few minutes. After submission, a licensed provider will review your information, and timelines may vary depending on availability and your specific situation.

Our clinical providers are Arora Health & Aesthetics, LLC. They can be contacted at medicalcompliance@arorahealthgroup.com. Arora Health has its office located at 300 Lenora Street, Seattle, WA 98121www.arora-health.com

At Somira Health, every treatment begins with a medical review by a licensed healthcare provider.

Our goal is to make the process simple, transparent, and focused on your individual needs.

Step 1: Complete Your Intake

You’ll begin by completing an online health questionnaire that includes information about:

– Your medical history
– Current medications
Health goals
– Relevant symptoms
– Treatment preferences

Providing complete and accurate information helps your provider make the most informed decision possible.

Step 2: Provider Review

Once your intake has been submitted, a licensed healthcare provider will carefully review your information.

Your provider will evaluate:

– Medical history
– Current health status
– Potential risk factors
– Treatment eligibility
– Whether the requested treatment is appropriate for you

Additional information may be requested if needed.

Step 3: Treatment Decision

If your provider determines that treatment is appropriate, a prescription may be issued and sent to a licensed pharmacy for fulfillment.

If treatment is not appropriate, your provider may recommend an alternative approach or determine that a prescription cannot be issued based on your medical history and clinical evaluation.

Step 4: Pharmacy Processing

After a prescription is issued, the pharmacy will process and prepare your medication for shipment.

Once your order ships, tracking information will be provided through your patient portal and shipment notifications.

Ongoing Care

Your treatment does not end after your first order.

Throughout your treatment journey, your provider may review your progress, answer clinical questions, and make adjustments to your treatment plan when medically appropriate.

Important

Submitting an intake form does not guarantee that a prescription will be issued.

All treatment decisions are made by licensed healthcare providers based on clinical judgment, medical history, eligibility requirements, and patient safety.

Questions?

If you have questions about your treatment plan or provider recommendations, you can contact your provider directly through the patient portal.

You can communicate with your provider by logging into your patient portal and sending a message through the secure messaging system.

Common reasons patients contact their provider include:

– Questions about their treatment plan
– Medication-related concerns
– Side effects
– Dose adjustments
– Progress updates
– General treatment questions

Do I Need To Schedule An Appointment?

In many cases, treatment can be reviewed and managed without scheduling a traditional office visit.

However, additional information, follow-up evaluations, or further communication may be required depending on your medical history, treatment plan, or provider recommendations.

Will The Same Provider Review My Treatment?

Provider availability may vary. Any licensed healthcare provider involved in your care will have access to the information necessary to review your treatment and provide appropriate clinical guidance.

When Should I Contact My Provider?

You should contact your provider if you:

– Have questions about your treatment plan
– Experience side effects
– Believe your medication is not working as expected
– Need guidance regarding your prescription
– Have changes in your health or medical history

Important

Healthcare providers make treatment decisions based on clinical judgment, medical history, patient safety, and eligibility requirements.

While providers are available to support your care, prescriptions, dose changes, and treatment recommendations are determined on an individual basis and cannot be guaranteed.

Need Help?

For non-medical questions regarding billing, shipping, account access, or order status, please contact support through the patient portal.

For questions related to your treatment or medication, please contact your provider directly through the patient portal.

Providers strive to respond to patient messages as quickly as possible.

Response times can vary depending on message volume, treatment type, weekends, holidays, and the nature of your question.

What Types of Questions Can I Ask?

Your provider can assist with questions related to:

– Your treatment plan
– Medication instructions
– Side effects
– Treatment progress
Dose adjustments
– Prescription-related concerns
– General clinical questions

When Should I Expect a Response?

Many messages receive a response within a few business days, though response times may vary.

Messages submitted during weekends, holidays, or outside normal business hours may require additional time for review.

Should I Send Multiple Messages?

Sending multiple messages regarding the same issue may actually delay the review process.

If you have already submitted a message, please allow your provider time to review and respond before sending additional requests.

What If My Question Is Urgent?

Patient portal messaging should not be used for medical emergencies.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate medical attention.

If you believe your concern requires prompt medical attention, contact an appropriate healthcare professional or urgent care provider.

Billing and Order Questions

For questions related to:

– Billing
– Shipping
– Order status
– Account access
– Technical issues

Please contact support through the patient portal, as these matters may not require provider review.

Our Commitment

At Somira Health, we believe healthcare should be accessible and convenient. Our providers carefully review each patient message to help ensure you receive thoughtful, individualized care and guidance.

All prescriptions are issued by licensed medical providers who review your information and determine whether treatment is appropriate based on your individual health profile.

Compounded medications are not FDA approved or evaluated for safety or effectiveness. A licensed medical provider can help determine whether this type of treatment is appropriate for you based on your individual needs.

Delivery timelines vary, but most orders arrive within approximately 3–5 business days after your prescription is sent to the pharmacy for fulfillment. Timing depends on pharmacy processing and shipping schedules.

Shipping methods may vary depending on the medication prescribed.

Cold-Shipped Medication

Certain medications, including compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, are shipped using overnight delivery in an insulated shipping envelope with an ice pack.

The purpose of the insulated packaging and ice pack is to help reduce large temperature fluctuations during transit. The packaging is designed to protect your medication while it is being shipped and is not intended to maintain refrigerated conditions indefinitely.

It is normal for ice packs to be partially or completely thawed upon arrival.

When Your Medication Arrives

Please retrieve your package as soon as possible after delivery and store your medication according to the instructions provided by the dispensing pharmacy.

For most refrigerated medications, this means placing the medication in the refrigerator shortly after delivery.

Always follow the storage instructions included with your prescription.

Other Medications

Not all medications require overnight shipping.

Depending on the treatment prescribed, medications may be shipped using standard or expedited shipping methods selected by the dispensing pharmacy.

Track Your Order

Once your order ships, tracking information will be provided through the patient portal and shipment notifications.

For the best delivery experience, we recommend creating accounts and downloading the mobile apps for:

– UPS
– FedEx

These services often provide additional delivery updates and notifications beyond the shipment notifications generated by our system.

Deliver Tips

To help ensure a smooth delivery experience:

  • Verify your shipping address is current.
  • Monitor your tracking information.
  • Retrieve your package as soon as possible after delivery.
  • Follow all storage instructions provided by the pharamacy.

Questions About Your Shipment?

If you have concerns about your medication, shipping status, or package condition upon arrival, please contact support through the patient portal for assistance.

How Does Overnight Shipping Work?

To help protect temperature-sensitive injectable medications during transit, eligible medications are shipped using UPS Next Day Air Saver®.

Once your order has been approved by your provider, processed by the pharmacy, and shipped, you’ll receive a tracking number so you can follow your package every step of the way.

When Will My Order Arrive?

For most addresses within the continental United States:

  • Orders shipped Monday through Thursday are typically delivered the next business day.
  • Orders shipped on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday are generally delivered on Monday.

While your medication is shipped using an overnight service, UPS does not typically deliver Next Day Air Saver shipments on weekends. As a result, packages that enter the UPS network later in the week are normally delivered on the next available business day.

Alaska and Hawaii

Due to carrier service availability, shipments to Alaska and Hawaii may require one additional business day in transit.

Your UPS tracking information will always provide the most accurate estimated delivery date.

Why Doesn’t My Tracking Show Immediate Movement?

After your shipping label is created, your package may not show movement until UPS performs its first scan. This is completely normal and tracking updates typically begin once the carrier has received your package.

Stay Updated

We recommend downloading the UPS Mobile App to receive real-time delivery notifications and estimated arrival times.

You’ll also receive shipping updates through your patient portal as they become available.

Important

Although we use overnight shipping for eligible injectable medications, delivery dates are ultimately determined by the carrier. Severe weather, holidays, carrier disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances may occasionally affect transit times.

If your shipment appears delayed or you have questions about your order, our Support Team is always happy to help through the patient portal.

Shipping timelines can vary depending on your treatment, provider review, pharmacy processing times, and prescription requirements.

New Orders

For new patients, your order must first complete the medical review process.

This typically includes:

– Submission of your intake information
– Provider review and approval (if appropriate)
– Prescription processing
– Pharmacy fulfillment

Once your prescription has been approved and processed by the pharmacy, your order will be prepared for shipment.

Renewal Orders

For active treatment plans with Auto-Renew enabled, renewal orders are typically processed automatically based on your treatment schedule.

Renewal timing may vary depending on your treatment plan, pharmacy processing times, and any provider review requirements.

Tracking Information

When your order ships, tracking information will be provided through your patient portal and shipment notifications.

We recommend monitoring your tracking information closely, especially for medications that require refrigeration upon delivery.

Need Updates on Your Order?

If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please check your patient portal first for the most up-to-date information.

If you still need assistance, our support team can help through the patient portal.

Helpful Tip

For additional shipment notifications, consider creating accounts with:

– UPS
– FedEx

Their mobile apps often provide real-time tracking updates and delivery alerts in addition to the notifications provided through our system.

In most cases, no.

It is common for tracking information to take some time to update after a shipping label has been created.

Why Does This Happen?

There are several reasons why tracking information may not immediately show movement:

– The shipping label has been created, but the carrier has not yet scanned the package.
– The package is awaiting carrier pickup.
– The carrier has not completed its initial processing scan.
– Tracking updates may be delayed during periods of high shipping volume.

This does not necessarily mean there is an issue with your order.

How Long Does It Take To Update?

Most tracking numbers begin showing movement once the carrier receives and scans the package into their network.

In some cases, tracking updates may not appear until later in the day or after the package reaches a sorting facility.

What Should I Do?

If your tracking information has not updated:

1. Allow additional time for the carrier to process and scan the package.
2. Check the tracking information directly through the carrier’s website or mobile app.
3. Continue monitoring for new scans and status updates.

Get Additional Tracking Notifications

For the most up-to-date shipment information, we recommend creating accounts and downloading the mobile apps for:

– UPS
– FedEx

These services often provide additional tracking details and delivery notifications beyond the updates available through our system.

When Should I Contact Support?

If your tracking information has not updated for an extended period of time or you believe there may be an issue with your shipment, please contact support through the patient portal.

Our team can review your order and help determine whether any further action is needed.

Important

A tracking number being created does not always mean the package has already been scanned by the carrier.

In many cases, tracking activity will appear once the carrier receives and processes the shipment.

There are several reasons why an order may still be processing before shipment.

In most cases, a delay does not indicate a problem with your order.

Common Reasons for Processing Delays

Your order may still be awaiting one or more of the following:

– Provider review and approval
– Additional clinical review requirements
– Pharmacy processing and fulfillment
– Prescription verification
– Inventory preparation
– Carrier pickup scheduling

Each order must complete these steps before it can be shipped.

Weekends and Holidays

Many pharmacies and shipping carriers operate on modified schedules during weekends and holidays.

As a result, orders placed shortly before a weekend or holiday may require additional processing time before shipment.

Refrigerated Medications

Certain medications, including compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, are shipped using overnight delivery.

To help protect medication quality during transit, pharmacies may adjust shipping schedules to avoid packages sitting in carrier facilities over weekends or holidays.

How Can I Check My Order Status?

The most up-to-date information can be found in your patient portal.

If tracking information has been generated, it will appear once your order has been prepared for shipment.

When Should I Contact Support?

If your order has been processing longer than expected and you have concerns about its status, please contact support through the patient portal.

Our team can review your order and provide additional information if needed.

Helpful Reminder

Most orders move through the review, fulfillment, and shipping process without issue. While processing times can vary, our goal is always to get your medication to you as quickly and safely as possible.

In most cases, yes.

Cold-shipped medications such as compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are shipped overnight in insulated packaging with an ice pack to help reduce large temperature fluctuations during transit.

The ice pack is intended to help protect the medication while it is being shipped and is not designed to remain frozen throughout the entire delivery process.

As a result, it is common for ice packs to arrive partially thawed or completely melted, particularly during warmer months.

What Should I Do When My Package Arrives?

Once your package is delivered:

1. Retrieve the package as soon as possible.
2. Inspect the contents for damage.
3. Store your medication according to the instructions provided by the dispensing pharmacy.

For refrigerated medications, this typically means placing the medication in the refrigerator shortly after delivery.

When Should I Contact Support?

Please contact support through the patient portal if:

– Your package arrives damaged.
– The medication vial is broken or leaking.
– The package appears to have been significantly delayed in transit.
– You have concerns about the condition of your medication upon arrival.

Our team will be happy to review your situation and assist if needed.

Important

A thawed ice pack alone does not necessarily indicate that your medication has been damaged or is no longer suitable for use.

Always follow the storage instructions provided by the dispensing pharmacy and contact support if you have concerns about your shipment.

Always store your medication according to the instructions provided by the dispensing pharmacy and prescription label.

Storage requirements may vary depending on the medication prescribed.

Refrigerated Medications

Certain medications, including compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, are typically stored in the refrigerator.

If your medication requires refrigeration:

– Store it according to the pharmacy’s instructions.
– Keep it protected from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
– Avoid freezing the medication unless specifically instructed by the pharmacy.
– Return the medication to appropriate storage promptly after use.

Room Temperature Medications

Some medications may be stored at room temperature.

Always follow the storage instructions included with your prescription, as requirements can vary between medications and formulations.

Traveling With Medication

If you are traveling:

– Keep your medication within the recommended storage conditions whenever possible.
– Avoid leaving medication in hot vehicles or direct sunlight.
– Follow any special travel instructions provided by the pharmacy.

What If My Medication Was Left Out?

Storage recommendations vary by medication and formulation.

If your medication has been left out of its recommended storage conditions for an extended period or you are unsure whether it remains suitable for use, contact support through the patient portal for guidance.

Important

The information provided here is intended as general guidance only.

Always follow the storage instructions provided by the dispensing pharmacy, as those instructions apply specifically to your prescribed medication and formulation.

Many compounded medications are supplied with a standard U-100 insulin syringe. These syringes measure volume (units), not medication strength (mg).

Understanding the markings

A standard U-100 insulin syringe is labeled from 0 to 100 units.
– The numbered lines (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, etc.) represent units.
– The smaller lines between the numbered markings represent additional units.
– Always draw your medication to the exact unit marking listed on your prescription label.

Important

Units and milligrams (mg) are NOT the same thing.

For example:

– If your prescription label says Inject 50 units, you should fill the syringe to the 50-unit mark.

– A prescription for 2.5 mg does not automatically mean you should inject 2.5 units.

The number of units needed depends on how your medication was prepared and prescribed. Always follow the directions printed on your prescription label.

Before injecting

1. Verify the medication name on the vial.

2. Verify the prescribed dose on your prescription label.

3. Draw medication to the exact unit marking listed on the label.

4. If you are unsure about your dose, do not inject until you have received clarification.

Need help?

If you have any questions about your prescription, dose, syringe markings, or how much medication to draw into your syringe, please contact your prescribing provider through the patient portal before administering your medication.

Disclaimer: This information is provided for educational and informational purposes only and is not medical advice. Somira Health does not provide individualized dosing instructions through this FAQ. Always follow the directions provided on your prescription label and by your prescribing clinician. If you have any questions about your medication, dose, or administration instructions, contact your prescribing provider through the patient portal before using your medication.

When you place an order, an authorization hold is placed on your payment method for the full amount. This is not a charge. A licensed provider will review your intake and determine whether treatment is appropriate.

If a prescription is issued, the authorization is captured and your card is charged. If treatment is not approved, the hold is released and no charge is made. You only pay if a prescription is issued.

Healthcare pricing can vary significantly between providers, and comparing options isn’t always straightforward.

At Somira Health, we believe healthcare should be simple, transparent, and easy to understand.

Our goal is to provide clear pricing upfront so you know what to expect before starting treatment. We work to avoid complicated pricing structures, hidden fees, unexpected add-ons, or promotional offers that may change over time.

What’s Included?

Depending on your treatment plan, pricing may include:

– Provider review and oversight
– Prescription management
– Ongoing treatment support
– Medication fulfillment through a licensed pharmacy
– Shipping when applicable

Specific inclusions may vary by treatment.

Why Do Prices Vary Between Companies?

Several factors can influence pricing, including:

– Medication formulation and dosage
– Pharmacy partnerships
– Shipping methods
– Provider involvement and clinical oversight
– Included services and support

Because of these differences, two companies may appear to offer similar treatments while providing different levels of service, support, or pricing transparency.

Our Philosophy

At Somira Health, we focus on delivering quality care through a straightforward experience.

We believe patients should be able to understand what they’re paying for, how their treatment works, and what to expect throughout their journey.

Simple. Transparent. Delivered.

Most Somira Health treatment plans are designed to renew automatically so that eligible patients can continue treatment without interruption.

If Auto-Renew is enabled on your treatment plan, your next order may be processed and billed according to your treatment schedule.

How Does Auto-Renew Work?

Auto-Renew helps ensure continuity of care by:

– Processing future treatment renewals automatically
– Helping prevent gaps in medication availability
– Allowing eligible patients to continue treatment without re-enrolling

Renewal timing varies depending on your treatment plan and medication schedule.

How Can I Check If Auto-Renew Is Enabled?

You can review your treatment settings at any time by:

1. Logging in to your patient portal.
2. Selecting your active treatment.
3. Clicking Manage.
4. Reviewing your Auto-Renew status.

How Do I Prevent Future Charges?

To prevent future treatment renewals and shipments, you must:

1. Pause Treatment
2. Turn off Auto-Renew

For detailed instructions, please see our FAQ article:

“How Do I Stop Auto Renewals and Shipments?”

What If I Intended To Cancel My Treatment?

If you no longer wish to continue treatment, you may cancel your membership directly from the patient portal.

For step-by-step instructions, please see:

“How Do I Cancel My Treatment?”

Need Help?

If you have questions about a recent charge, renewal date, or treatment status, please contact support through the patient portal.

Our team will be happy to review your account and provide additional information.

If you no longer wish to receive future medication shipments, you must complete both of the following steps within your patient portal:

Step 1: Pause Your Treatment

1. Log in to your patient portal.
2. Select your active treatment.
3. Click Manage.
4. Select Pause Treatment.

Step 2: Turn Off Auto-Renew

1. While viewing your treatment, click Manage.
2. Locate the Auto-Renew setting.
3. Toggle Auto-Renew to Off.

Important

Both actions must be completed to prevent future orders from being processed.

Pausing treatment alone does not automatically disable Auto-Renew, and turning off Auto-Renew alone may not fully pause your treatment plan.

To avoid future charges and shipments, you must:

Pause Treatment
Turn Off Auto-Renew

Need Help?

If you have questions about your treatment status, billing cycle, or upcoming renewal date, please contact support through the patient portal before your next scheduled renewal.

To prevent future charges and shipments, both “Pause Treatment” and “Auto-Renew Off” must be completed.

If you wish to discontinue your treatment and membership, you can do so directly from your patient portal.

Step 1: Log In to Your Patient Portal:

Sign in to your Somira Health patient portal using your account credentials.

Step 2: Select Your Treatment

From your dashboard, select the active treatment you would like to cancel.

Step 3: Open Treatment Management

Click Manage to view your treatment settings and options.

Step 4: Cancel Your Membership

Select Cancel Membership and follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your cancellation request.

What Happens After I Cancel?

Once your membership has been canceled:

Future renewals will be discontinued.
Future treatment shipments will not be processed.
Your treatment plan will become inactive.
You may lose access to certain membership benefits associated with your active treatment.

Important

Canceling your membership is different from simply pausing treatment.

Cancel Membership permanently ends your active treatment plan and future renewals unless you choose to enroll again in the future.

Need Help?

If you have questions about your treatment, upcoming renewals, or cancellation status, please contact support through the patient portal before your next scheduled renewal date.

Looking for a temporary break? Consider using Pause Treatment instead of Cancel Membership if you plan to resume treatment in the future.

While medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide may help reduce appetite and food cravings, experiencing hunger does not automatically mean your medication isn’t working.

Is Hunger Normal?

Yes.

Hunger is a normal biological signal, and many patients continue to experience hunger while taking weight loss medication.

Treatment is not intended to eliminate hunger completely.

Instead, many patients notice changes such as:

– Reduced food cravings or “food noise”
– Feeling satisfied with smaller portions
– Feeling full sooner during meals
-Improved control over eating habits

These effects can vary from person to person.

How Do I Know If It’s Working?

The most important measure of effectiveness is your overall progress over time.

Signs your treatment may be working include:

– Weight loss
– Reduced portion sizes
– Improved eating habits
– Reduced cravings
– Greater control over food choices

Not every patient experiences the same level of appetite suppression.

What If I’m Still Hungry And Not Losing Weight?

If you continue to experience significant hunger and your weight has not changed despite following your treatment plan, it may be appropriate to discuss your progress with your provider.

Your provider can review your response to treatment and determine whether any adjustments may be medically appropriate.

Treatment Takes Time

Weight loss medications are typically started at lower doses and gradually increased over time.

The early doses are often intended to help your body adjust to treatment and may not produce the same effects experienced at later maintenance doses.

Important

Experiencing hunger does not automatically mean your medication has stopped working or is ineffective.

Many patients continue to lose weight successfully while still experiencing normal hunger signals.

If you have concerns about your progress, please contact your provider through the patient portal for individualized guidance.

If you need assistance with your account, billing, shipping, order status, or other non-medical questions, our Support Team is here to help.
